Education Initiatives
Z Club - Good Shepherd Lutheran College

To truly change the lives of women and girls globally now and for generations to come, we must invest in youth development and mentor young leaders for gender equality.  Zonta believes young people are critical to achieving gender equality and ending violence against women and girls around the world.

Z clubs are formed on secondary school campuses and are designed to provide opportunities for young adults to develop communication and leadership skills, explore career alternatives, and increase their international awareness and understanding through service.

We are proud sponsors of the Good Shepherd Lutheran College Z Club.

Since 2020, the Zonta Club of Noosa has offered this award to female students who have completed Grade 12 at each of the three state schools and two private schools in the Noosa district and are enrolled in a STEM course at a recognised university for the following year. The successful candidate from each school will be awarded $200 ($1000 in total) to go towards their study material. Establishing a balance of female and male involvement in the STEM industry is vital to nurturing an environment of equal opportunity and economic empowerment among women.
University Sunshine Coast - Indigenous Women Bursary

Zonta Noosa has awarded this bursary in recognition of the underrepresentation of indigenous women in tertiary studies. Since its inception in 2012, this bursary for $1000 has built momentum and each year more applications are received. In assisting indigenous women to undertake full-time university study, Zonta is helping to ‘close the gap’.
